The Hawthorne Bridge is actually the oldest vertical lift bridge in the United States and the oldest highway bridge in Portland, opening up in 1910. This is looking west to east.

We spent the first two weeks of September 2018 in Oregon and I was able to go up to see Multnomah Falls and the Columbia Gorge.  I could spend a couple of weeks in the gorge exploring.  Maybe one day….

In February 2020 during a layover in Los Angeles I walked around Venice Beach with my son Bob. I look forward to going back and spending more time:

New York City

I spent the last week of January 2019 in Brooklyn helping out Sean after surgery. I was able to get out a bit on the streets of Bed-Stuy and beyond. It was way to cold to stand around taking pictures though!
